This full moon is known as the Worm Moon because it falls at the time of year in the northern hemisphere when the ground is starting to warm up and the earthworms come to the surface where they provide nourishment for the birds. It is one of the signs of spring and the rebirth of the land. Earthworms provide their nutrient rich castings to the soil which make for healthy plants, which in turn nourish us.
